End an active job? And/or, release a terminal that has been locked by a job?
*NOTE You must have a security level of System Administrator or Higher to End an
active job. Users, System Operators, and Programers must request that a
supervisor end the job.
❏ Step #1 Go to a command line.
You may do this by signing on your terminal and going to an application menu
with a command line (i.e. R U; Q U; M U, etc.). Please note that the Main
Application Menu does not have a command line.
❏ Step #2 Type in the following “WRKACTJOB” on the command line and press the
ENTER key.
❏ Step #3 Use your field exit key until you find the job that is locked up or
will not end. Type the number “4” (end option) along side the job and press the
ENTER key.
❏ Finish The job will begin to end in 30 seconds. When you see a sign-on screen
on the locked job you will know it has been terminated.
*NOTE depending on the complexity of the job it could take up to an hour to end
the job. Although, it normally is under two minutes.
