I-O Equipment Problem with Old (5+ years) Terminals
-
When there is a power outage, sometimes the
I/O terminals lose the printer configuration.
To fix the configuration, bring up the setup
screen by turning off the terminal, and holding down the space bar.
With the space bar held down, press the power button.
When the setup screen comes up, go to the
second page by hitting the "Enter" key. Then in the printer field
change it to 9 pin pro printer.
Keyboard Testing
- How can I test my keyboard for non-functioning keys
?Updated:02-18-2006 - Views: 344 From a power off condition, press and hold
down the Reset key while powering on the terminal. When the display comes up
with the Configuration Screen, release the Reset key and press the letter
'K' to enter a special keyboard diagnostic screen. Press each key
individually and monitor the screen to ensure proper key functioning. After
testing the keys press enter to exit and return to your normal session.
NOTE:
Press Enter only after you have tested all other keys. Pressing Enter will
exit the keyboard test.
Powering On-terminals
- New terminals ship with a unique power supply. If you accidentally
plug ANY OTHER POWER SUPPLY into it you will blow the unit (i.e. burn its
components).
Can't Access Setup
- Power on the unit using the reset key instead of the space bar key.
