Power Outages

WHAT TO DO WHEN POWER IS or WILL LOST AT A LOCATION:

The following is a list, in order, of what to do when your location has lost power:

  1. Answer any messages and end all active jobs. If you have any questions about answering messages call IBS personnel first! 888-640-1252
  2. Alert all users you are shutting down the system
  3. Have Sales Personnel hand write tickets.
  4. When power is restored press the white power button on the main system server. The system will begin the power up process. This may take 10-15 minutes on newer systems and longer on older ones
  5. If power was lost abnormally (an unplanned power outage) test the files

Create or edit a Sales Order
    Create or edit a Quote
Create or edit a Purchase Order
Verify you can go into Receipts and Adjustments
Verify you can go into inventory changes (IU, 4)
Have all users sign on the system
Check the system Date (DSPSYSVAL QDATE)
Check the system Time (DSPSYSVAL QTIME)

  6. After all messages have been answered, you may start entering the handwritten tickets into the computer.
  7. The following morning check your invoice register and verify that there are no out of balance tickets

Entering Handwritten Tickets into the system

  • When entering handwritten tickets into the computer, remember to enter the correct ship date, and order date. The handwritten ticket number should be entered in the CUSTOMER ORDER NUMBER field, for reference.
  • (6) Sales Entry/Point-of-Sale terminals will return to the exact point the operator was, prior to power loss. CAUTION: Have the sales personnel check their hand written tickets to determine if the ticket they were entering into the system prior to power loss was completed. If the ticket was not completed you may continue and complete this ticket.
