DEMILITARIZED ZONE (DMZ)
is a setting or option in your Zoom
router that will allow your ports or
port requests to be forwarded directly to your
machine or the IP of the machine you select.
To enable
port forwarding:
- Type
http://10.0.0.2 into a
browser window; this will give you a
prompt to log into the Zoom
Router.
- Login using the following:
- Username: admin
- Password: zoomadsl
- Click OK. Now
you are into the Zoom Routers Basic Setup.
- Click Advanced Settings.
- Click
DMZ. This will load the
DMZ configuration page.
- Enable the
DMZ.
- Type your Computers IP into the
DMZ HOST IP area.
- Click Save Changes
and close the window.
You should now be ready to use your
applications and games that require
port forwarding. We suggest that you disable this
function when not using it, or for system security, get
a
firewall for your computer. Because the
DMZ makes your system less secure, adding a
firewall should decrease your chances of being
intruded upon.
