I-O Corporation 5250 Emulation
I-O Corporation Emulation Card (ISA) (Use with Dos, Windows 3.1 or 3.11) for
PC to AS/400 Communications.
*Please note that these cards are no longer
supported by IBS Lumber Software Inc as of June 1999.
Hardware Installation of a Generic PCI/ISA Emulation Card
- 1. Power off the PC & unplug the PC from attached outlet.
2. Remove the PC cover, and find an empty matching expansion slot (an empty PCI
or ISA slot depending on the card).
3. Carefully insert the Emulation card into the expansion slot. Always remember
if it doesn’t slide easily into place you are doing it WRONG and could damage or
destroy the card.
☞ Bos (ISA) and I/O Card users must also set the DIP switches (refer to
Emulation Card user's manual or call IBS Lumber Software Inc.
4. Replace the PC cover. You may want to leave the screws out or the cover off
until you have verified that the PC is functioning properly.
5. Connect the Twinax cable to the Emulation Card pig-tail or T connector.
☞ A “Pig-tail” or “T” connector will have a place for two separate twin-ax
cables.
☞ The PC end of the connector will plug directly into the Emulation card using
either a “9” or “15” pin connection.
6. Turn on the Computer.
7. Install any required Emulation software and drivers. Software is normally on
either CD-Rom or 3.5” Diskettes (or 5.25” if you are using an older version).
8. Install the IBM (or compatible) software (i.e. Client Access, Twin-ax, 8251,
etc.).
9. Verify the cable address on the AS/400. If you do not know what addresses are
option print a listing of all System addresses by going to a command line then
key PRTDEVADR CTL[01] (where 01 is your controller number in question).
10. Initiate a Sign-on procedure. BOSâNova 6401 (Level 5 Bos Plus) Emulation
