Typical Network Layout

Check your IP Configuration

  • from a dos prompt type 'ipconfig'
  • Note the IP address
    • if the IP starts with 169.nnn.nnn.nnn you are not connected to any network

Ping the Server

  • Open a dos prompt
  • Type 'ping nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn' then press ENTER
    • 'Request timed out' means you either keyed in the wrong IP address or the network is not accessible from where you are

Check the Configuration

  • CFGTCP
  • Option #1
  • F11
