Web Questions

  • AS400 will not reboot with SRC code 10112404

    • I am using a AS400 and we had a power outage today. The battery backup did not work (it was just changed a few months ago)so the system went totally down without an organized shutdown. The system is a model 720 using OS400 4.5.0. When the power came back on around 12:30 pm the system started back up but I have not received a sign on screen for the console and the display show an SRC of 10112404. The power light is on, the drive light is flashing like it is working but it has been 3 hours and nothing has happened. It normally takes 45 minute to IPL. What is taking so long. Should I hit the white power button and try to reboot again or is it taking this long to recover?

IBM Information

  • Important UPS Information

    • Before continuing the repair action, read and understand the following information. It is important that the instructions to verify the repair are followed.

    • After completing a repair action, you must run a battery test from the Hardware Service Test display. The test is required to verify the repair and also to reset the 90–day battery test timer.

    • If the battery is not charged, the UPS may reject the test and the HST display will show a status code of 2C. Any other code indicates that the test was successful.

    • Depending on the state of the battery charge, it may take up to 24 hours for the UPS to accept the test.

    • If the SRC that initiated the repair action was 1xxx 2403, 1xxx 2404, 1xxx 2405, or 1xxx 2406, this SRC will display when the system is powered on after the repair action is complete. A battery test will reset this SRC indication. If the SRC is not reset after the battery test, the repair action was not successful and the UPS was not the failing item.

    • If the SRC that initiated the repair action was not 1xxx 2403, 1xxx 2404, 1xxx 2405, or 1xxx 2406, and the repair action was successful, the system will power on and no SRC will display. However, the battery test must still be run to reset the 90–day timer. If the repair action was not successful, either the original SRC or a new SRC will display.

    • If a problem was detected during the battery test, the results may be misleading because the SRC may not return until a new test is required.

    • Once the battery test is successful, the repair action is complete.
