How to Set the Forms thickness on a Lexmark 23XX and 24XX printer

  1. Locate the forms thickness lever on the front left-hand side of the printer (blue on the 23xx, gray on the 24XX). The lever is numbered 1 through 7. The lower the number, the tighter the paper path; the higher the number, the wider the paper path. As a rule, the highest setting (number) that is compatible with the print quality desired is best for the printer.
  2. When setting the forms thickness lever, start by setting the lever to the number of copies in your form (including carbons) plus 1. For example, set the lever to 2 for a single-part form, for a two-part form, set it to 3, and so on.
  3. Test the print quality and adjust as needed.
